Course 12 of 18

The Self & the Unconscious

Modern inwardness: shadow, persona, projection, and becoming whole.

What this course covers

The Self & the Unconscious works through modern inwardness: shadow, persona, projection, and becoming whole. across 2 lessons. Each opens with a short teaching passage, then tests whether the idea actually landed — and explains every answer rather than just marking it.

The lessons are sequenced, not a menu. Jung's Inner World comes first because shadow, persona, and the collective unconscious is what the rest of the course assumes; by the end you reach Becoming Whole.

How it starts

Carl Jung mapped a mind with hidden depths. We show the world a 'persona,' a social mask, while disowning our darker traits into the 'shadow.' Beneath personal memory lies a 'collective unconscious'-inherited patterns Jung called archetypes, like the Hero or the Mother, that shape myths and dreams across every culture.

Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual's conscious life, the blacker and denser it is.
